Built in 1964, One Redcliff Street was the first high rise building in Bristol breaking the unofficial height limit of 30.5 metres – 100 foot. Over the years, several floors have been added where the building now stands at 64 meters.

One Redcliff Street is truly a landmark office building set over ground and 14 upper floors in one of the highest-profile buildings in Bristols busy City Centre.

Bespoke aluminium secondary glazing was specified to improve both the thermal and acoustic performance of the original 1960’s fenestration. The specification required a secondary glazing system that was slimline, unobtrusive and blended into the building aesthetic. As the specification demanded a slim system, the secondary glazed systems were manufactured and installed without a timber surround.

In total, Granada Glazing designed, manufactured and installed 342 Lift Outs, these secondary glazed units were installed in phases to keep disturbance to a minimum. The secondary glazed systems included 4mm toughened glass, which is five times stronger than annealed and laminated glass of the same thickness.

The building is home to multiple IT, Law and architectural businesses where Granada’s durable aluminium secondary glazing has substantially increased both thermal and acoustic insulation.
