Stylish design meets high performance in Granada Glazing’s hinged secondary glazing product range that eliminates issues with external noise, heat loss, condensation and poor security.

Whether you own a new build home, historic or listed property or a commercial property, hinged secondary glazing, with five variations, can deliver the required cost-effective and discreet secondary glazing solutions. Even arched and unusual shapes are achievable.

Hinged units are a truly versatile choice thanks to their ability to suit any style of window, from casement to traditional box sash, as long as there are vertical bars. Hinges on the inwardly opening secondary glazing panels can be positioned on either side or hung from the top, depending on your requirement.

All hinged units are custom-made to your individual specification with a secure multi-point locking system as standard. This system locks the glazed secondary panel securely against the outer window frame, creating an efficient seal that provides 65% more thermal insulation and reduces noise by up to 80%.

Depending on the window style and your personal preference, the secondary glazing units can either be face-fixed or reveal-fixed. The unobtrusive aluminium frames can be powder coated in a choice of 200 RAL colours to match your existing windows and interior décor.

An extensive range of glazing options, from 4mm to 28mm glass – is offered to cater for thermal requirements as well as to reduce noise intrusion. Single or double-glazed panes for enhanced acoustic or thermal performance can also be supplied.

For larger windows and commercial projects, Heavy-duty Hinged units can support up to 120kg in weight and carry 28mm acoustic double-glazed units.

Opening a hinged unit is easy using a single operating handle that can be positioned at any height. An espagnolette handle is also offered. Access of up 180 degrees can be achieved with butt hinges, allowing for easier cleaning and maintenance. For increased ventilation, the Tilt & Turn hinged unit tilts inwards on its horizontal axis for greater air flow.

The adaptability of the hinged range is further demonstrated with a further three variations designed for specific design applications. For example, the Low Threshold Hinged product features a low threshold profile on either the top and/or bottom of the unit. This makes it an ideal solution for applications where the primary window needs to pass through the secondary glazing unit.

For rooms and apertures with limited space, the new Slimline Hinged unit fits the bill perfectly. An ultra-slim version of the standard hinged unit with sleek frames and a streamlined handle profile, it can slot into the smallest of spaces with no transoms or mullions to spoil the views.

If required, a Double Hinged unit of the standard product can be specified. This consists of two secondary glazing units connected with a flying mullion in the centre.

Whichever product type you choose, Granada Glazing’s hinged systems cost-effectively solve noise, thermal, condensation or security issues with virtually invisible, quality secondary glazing.

Using modern materials with a traditional look, the Hinged range is designed for 21st century living while preserving the characterful aesthetics of all types of buildings.
